I purchased this product recently and I have found the board sensor very disappointing. It takes a huge amount of pressure to register a part position on the board. The playing experience is mostly irritating due to this problem.
I’ve used this CGP chess computer for a couple weeks with a dozen games played so far. It is a great product comparing performance and price!
I had the similar feeling in the beginning that we have to press the board hard. However, now with more and more games playing with it, I actually start to appreciate the sensor board set to this way – not too hard and not too light … Since it actually prevent some unexpected slightly touch or moves on chess piece or board to trigger the system with false move signal.
Also user can always use the tip of the chess piece or finger to press the board to make sure/confirm your move easily.
All in all, I like this product, and the price is just right. Although it still has some minor issues there (such as not enough space to hold all of the pieces in the back of the CGP), I give it at least 4 star out of 5, and I would highly recommend this product for any chess lovers especially if you want to have some fun or practices at home but no one around you… 🙂
I read a comment that the model this person was using just turned off if about 2 minutes lapsed without making a move.
Is this true with any of the Cess Genius computer games?

Just got Chess Genius Pro M812, used from EBay. Love it, by the way. Cannot determine the sequence of buttons that allow “player vs. player” so the computer acts as a record keeper and referee until called upon for hints, and move analysis, etc. Even the box states “player vs. player,” but I haven’t learned how to make it work yet. I have learned to use the Move key, swap sides, etc., but player vs player eludes me. Please help. Roy. Thanks in advance.
Here’s how you set the Pro for 2 player mode:
Step-by-step:
1) Press the MENU button
2) Press the right arrow until the screen displays ANALYSIS, then press the green “ENT” button. Make sure you see a Checkmark to the right of analysis. If you see a “-“, you need to press the “ENT” button again.
3) Press the red “CL” button
4) If you need to start a new game press “New” then “ENT” and start playing!
Thank you very much. Right now, I am out and about, but I will try it within the next 2 hours. Thank you again.
