Doctor Checkmate

This article is really helpful as I have been thinking of starting a chess club in my particular area. The motivation question was a good one. Your article sure gives one alot to think about, but the payoff is really the reward, helping youngsters learn the game of chess, and hopefully some life lessons as well.

I am working with school age children in a after school program and we want to organize a chess club with aprox. 15 children.

This is an awesome post. My brother is actually getting a job as a chess coach for kids, and I'm sure this will be a great read for him. I'll have to forward it to him. :)
