Where can you find software to print out chess programs, for teaching, lessons, etc?
For something simple, you can download the free program, "Screen Hunter 4.0"(newer editions are pay versions). There's one link to the 4.0 version.
That program would allow ANY chess program to be used--simply get the position on your screen, use the Screen Hunter to capture the image, copy it into Microsoft Word or any other program of choice, and print it out! Easy+++
Or you can use a very nice simple program called "ChessGrafix". I have used that for designing my own homework sheets.
http://www.enpassant.dk/chess/diaeng.htm has loads of resources and tips for printing chess diagrams, making diagrams, etc. I don't think it's necessary to pay for a program when if you can just go there and get it all free--set up positions, print them out, customize, add arrows, and more.
ChessHouse has a link on the software page to a free software, called "ChessPad" that is made for designing/editing/games/positions, and printing them too.
Some chess programs DO have that feature, but I have not tested a wide range of them. The CT-ART line of programs all have a print option. How good it is, I don't totally know, but they all have the option of printing custom positions.
I have never used one of the standard chess programs for printing, I have heard that Chess Assistant is good--but none of them have been designed for printing only like some have been.
