Enschede, the Netherlands , April 7th 2006.
The Cogas match Korchnoi – Timman on April 14th and 15th in Almelo ( Netherlands ) will be the stage for the world premiere of the new DGT wireless chess broadcasting system.
Since the 1998 Chess Olympiad in Elista, all top-level chess events, including 6 World Championships, 4 Chess Olympiads and countless toplevel tournaments like Linnares, Dortmund and Wijk aan Zee, use the technology of DGT Projects for “live” broadcasting of chess games.
This week thousands of chess lovers around the world have access to “live” games, e.g. in the Topalov – Nisipeanu match and the European Championship.
The DGT broadcasting system includes the DGT electronic chess boards, the DGT XL digital clocks and DGT ToMa software.
As of now, the use of the DGT system will become much easier. Based on the cutting edge Zigbee wireless protocol, DGT Projects introduces the “DGT Wireless box”, an accessory that makes cabling electronic chess boards in a tournament hall superfluous.
The revolutionary new system can handle several hundreds of chess boards.
The “DGT Wireless box” is 100% compatible with existing DGT electronic boards and ToMa software.
The debut of the new wireless system will be next week at the Cogas Match Korchnoi – Timman.

The first game will start on Friday the 14th of April at 18.45 CET.
